Journal Page - Friendship

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is doing well.  I created an art journal page based on a dream I had.  Sometimes when I have trouble getting my mind to slow down so I can sleep, I focus on doing something artistic and sometimes when I fall a sleep, I have dreams about art.  This was one such journal page I dreamed about.  I also made another hand cut stencil to use on the background of this journal page.  I drew two faces to add to the page and added a quote I found in my stash on Friendship to finish the page.  I used acrylic paints for the background and water colors to paint the faces. I also used a Stabilo Pencil to outline and shadow the circles and outline the quote.  And I used a Signo white pen and a bit of water to highlight the circles.  Here is the journal page I created:

This page turned out better than I dreamed of, pun intended.  I also created the following video showing how I created this journal page.

I hope you enjoy the video and that it inspires you.  Have you create a journal page based on a dream you've had?  If so I would love to hear about it so please leave me a comment.  Until  next time, happy creating.

Creative Organization of My Craft Room

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is doing well.  This past weekend and the weekend before I have been working on better organizing my craft room and make more space.  I recycled shoe boxes, files boxes and other types of mailing boxes I had.  And to make them look more cohesive and less of a mish mosh, I painted them all white and added tags to them so I can easily see what is in each.  I also recycled strawberry baskets, fruit containers, take out containers and baby wipe containers.  I found items around my house to repurpose and found other items at Goodwill, yard sales, Hobby Lobby, Harbor Freight and Lowes.  My husband even got involved helping me rearrange the room, putting together a cart we bought, on sale of course, and building me some more shelves.  You don't have to spend a lot of money to organize your craft supplies.  There are lots of creative ways to organize everything for little to no cost.  I put together this quick video showing how I recycled items and organized my craft supplies.

Do you use recycled items in your scrap room to organize your supplies?  If so I would love to hear about how you use recycled items to organize your craft supplies.  Until next time, happy creating.

Journal Pages using Dina Wakley Supplies

Hello creative friends, Happy St. Patrick's day.  Today is my birthday so I took a vacation day to relax and do some art journaling.  I bought myself an art kit that contains Dina Wakley supplies: 3 videos, 3 paints (Magenta, Turquoise and Lime) , 2 stamp sets (birds and faces), a stencil with a quote and fine tip applicators.  I decided to play around with the supplies and create a journal page, however I was having so much fun I ended up creating two journal pages.  Here are the two journal pages I created:

And I created these two videos showing how I created these journal pages.

I had a lot of fun today creating these pages and the videos.  I hope you enjoy the video's and have a great day.  Until next time, happy creating.

ICAD Discovery

Hello creative friends.  I hope you are all having a good week.  I enjoy making ICADs, which stands for Index Card a Day.  They are a quick easy way to get in some creative time, especially when you don't have a lot of time or you don't want to create a whole journal page.  I thought I would create a couple of video's on how I like to create ICADs.  I Gesso and color the card and then add ephemera and a word or a quote.  This is one technique that I like to use.  This card I colored using Ranger distressing paints, I did some stamping on the background and then added an image from a magazine that already had a word on it.  Here is the ICAD I created:

And here is the video I created showing how I made this ICAD.  I also show in the video, at the end, several other ICADs that I made using this same technique so that you can see variations of this same technique.

Have you or do you make ICADs?  I would love to hear what techniques you like to use when creating ICADs.  Until next time happy creating.

Jennibellie's Birthday Bash - Creative Flags

Hello creative friends.  Jennibellie had her Birthday Bash the weekend before last and although I was able to participate for a little while, I was not able to make the project, which was a flag.  If you haven't yet joined Jennibellie's Inspiration Station - you can click the link on the left of my blog to join and its free.  This is where you will find the Birthday Bash.  Happy Birthday Jennibellie.

This weekend my granddaughter came to visit so I figured we could both make a flag.  Here is the flag I made.

And here is my granddaughters flag.

We had so much fun making our flags.  Mine is hanging in my art room and my granddaughter took hers home to hang in her bedroom.  So what have you been working on lately?  I would love to hear about it.  Until next time, happy creating.
