Journal Pages - Confident, Confession, Love and Courage

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  My granddaughter came to visit this weekend and OMG she is growing up so fast.  She is 13 going on 16 and those of you with teen daughters know what I mean.  She hasn't come for a visit in a while, which understandably she would rather hang out with her friends than grandma, but I sure do enjoy spending time with her.  This weekend we created several journal pages.  The first journal pages we created we decided to draw a face and then put the face on a journal page.  I have been practicing drawing faces as much as possible so this page was fun to make and getting better at drawing faces all the time.  Here is the journal page I created and I think the face I drew has a confident look, so I added the word "Confident":

Here is the journal page my granddaughter made with the word "Confession".  She is getting really good at drawing faces as well.

Here is another face that my granddaughter drew, which I think turned out really good.  FYI - according to my granddaughter the dot on her nose and the two dots under her bottom lip are earrings, not moles LOL.

Then we decided to do a journal page based on what product names we pulled from a cup, an idea we got from Jennibellie.  The order of the products I pulled was: Stamps, Crayons/Markers, Collage, Paint and Ephemera.  Not my favorite page, but it was fun to make.

Here is the page my granddaughter made.  She pulled supplies in the following order: Stamps, Stencils, Oil Pastels/Markers, Collage and Paint.

As always we had a lot of fun getting messy and art journaling this weekend.  Thanks for stopping by and hope everyone has a great week. Until next time, happy creating.

Journal Page - Conviction

Hello creative friends.  Hope everyone is having a good week.  I am back from vacation and it was nice to seeing my daughter and see her graduate from college.  I also had time to do some art journaling, which always makes my week when I find time to be creative.  I completed this two page layout in the art journal I made.  I started out with adding papers to the background, then watercolors, some items I found in my stash and finally a sketch of a face. The inspiration for this page is a quote I found in my stash from a magazine that says "I've had to push myself - but what keeps me strong is my conviction", which is in the pink heart.  I also found another quote that I thought fit on this page "When you believe in yourself, it's amazing what can happen!".  I feel that both of these quotes are recurring themes in my life.  I do have to push myself and I do find it amazing what you can accomplish when you believe in yourself and push yourself.  Here is the page I created:

Here are some close-ups of the page:

And I made a video showing how I created this page:

Hope you enjoy the video.  I hope everyone has a great week and until next time, happy creating.

Jounrnal Page - Hope

Hello creative friends.  I'm back home from visiting my daughter in Georgia and seeing her graduate from college.  I really had a great time and am so proud of her.  Here is an art journal page that I created a while back, but have not had a chance to post it.  I was inspired by the pictures and quotes I found in my stash and the cherry blossoms that were being shown on TV in bloom at the time.  After finishing the page it reminded me of my granddaughter, because her middle name is Hope and I knew she would like this page.  The pictures were from a magazine and the quotes seemed to fit the page.  I used Gelatos, acrylic paint and StazOn inks with stamps to create the background and finish the page.  Here is the completed page:

And here are some close up pics of the page:

I also created a video on how I made this page:

I hope you enjoy the video and would love to hear what you think about my art and the video's that I have been making, so please leave me a comment. I really enjoy creating and making these videos.  Hope you have a good week.  Until next time, happy creating.

Journal Page - In God's Hands

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is have a good week.  This week has been one of the better weeks for me lately, mainly because I am taking some time off this Friday and all next week for vacation.  I have been having some challenges for quite some time now and going through a lot of stuff, so I created this journal page to remind myself to stop worrying so much about everything and leave it in god's hands.  Here is the journal page I created:

And here are a couple of close-ups of the details:

This was a page that I used Gesso to attach small tags to the two page layout and wanted to do something with it.  I was not sure what I was going to do with the page, I just started adding color and then thought it would look cool with drips.  I drew a hand and then traced it onto deli paper to add to the page.  I also stamped onto deli paper other images using Staz-on ink pads and markers to color in some of the images.  When you use deli paper, once you glue it down, the deli paper disappears into the background so it looks like you stamped right onto the page.  Also, here is a video showing how I created this page.

Hope you enjoy the video.  I really like the way this page turned out and thought that the tags added an interesting and textured background.  What interesting materials have you used on a background to add texture?  I would love to hear about it.  Until next time, happy creating.
