Life Book Pages and a Dimensional Canvas

Hello creative friends.  This week I worked on more Life Book pages.  Here are pics of the pages I completed.  The theme of these pages is honoring your inner self.

I also completed the follow, which was also a Life Book journal page, but I decided to put it on a canvas so I could hang it.  The Life Book video lesson used lace, fabric and flowers and had a totally different layout, look and color scheme than what I did.  But isn't that the point, to take the lessons and make it your own, using your own style.  I decided to use heavier found objects and some purchased objects, like the gears, which is another reason I put it on a canvas because it would be too heavy for a journal page.  I also added some close-ups of the canvas below.

The pictures I imbedded in the canvas are of me, my daughter, my son and my granddaughter. I love the dimension, the vibrant colors and the glitter.  I really love the way it turned out and may try this again on a journal page with lighter weight embellishments, LOL.  Do you use found objects in your art journal pages?  I would love to hear about it.  Well until next time, happy creating.

Back from Vacation and Working on more Life Book 2014 pages

Hello creative friends.  I've been on vacation this past week. Me and my husband went to Orlando for our anniversary and hit most of the theme parks LOL.  We had a very fun, busy and relaxing week.  This weekend I had my granddaughter come stay and we worked on completing a couple of the Life Book 2014 pages.  Here is a page about being in the moment and playing with different techniques and tools.  We had a lot of fun creating these pages. The first one is the art journal page I created and the second one my granddaughter created, in case you were wondering who did which one, LOL.

I love my granddaughters sense of freedom and creativity, which was the purpose of this journal page. Even though I tried to not over think it too much, I still feel mine is not as loose or random as it could have been.

These next pages we completed is about what we are grateful for.  Again the first one is the page I created and the second my granddaughter completed.

I really like how these pages turned out and as always we had a lot of fun.  If you have not yet check out Life Book, I would highly recommend it.  It is well worth it.  So what have you been working on lately?  I would love to see what you have been working on and hear all about it.  Until next time, happy creating.

Catching up on Life Book 2014

Hello creative friends.  This week I have been catching up on some of the Life Book 2014 journal lessons and pages.  Since I have been studying for so long I got behind on the weekly lessons.  I really enjoy Life Book, it has great videos with lots of techniques to try.  And I like that I not only express my creativity but also explore my inner thoughts and feelings.  Here are some of my favorite journal pages that I have done so far from Life Book 2014.

You can learn a lot from watching others and trying different styles and techniques.  This is how you learn what you like and then you start to incorporate them into your own art.  This is how the master artist's learned, by watching other artists and copying their techniques.  Who have you watched recently and what journal pages have you created lately using the techniques you've learned?  I would love to hear about it and see what you have created.  Until next time, happy creating.
