Art Journal Page - Hold on to Hope

Hello creative friends, I hope you are having a good week.  My week is going well.  This week I decided to create an art journal page using the image of the Panda that I painted some time ago.  So I printed the image and cut it out to add to my journal page.  I started with a page that I had affixed a polka dot napkin to some time ago using Gesso.  I sprayed some Dylusions & Adirondack inks to the page to add color.  I then found a couple of titles and a quote in my stash to add to the page.  I added some stamping and then traced around the whole page with a Posca pen.  Here are some pics of the page I created.

And here is the video showing how I created this page.

I think the page turned out really cute.  Thank you for stopping by and watching my video.  Hope you have a great week.  Until next time, happy creating.

Mini Memories Steampunk Journal and Journey Daybook Outing

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  Mine is going well.  This past weekend I went on an outing with the Journey Daybook club to a quilt shop.  I saw some fabric there that had roses on it with some text, so I decided to create a page with the same elements.  I drew the roses and then glued on some scrap paper with text on them.  I used watercolor paints to paint the page and added my title and a quote that says "The flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of all", by Walt Disney's 'Mulan'.  Here is a picture of the page that I created.

I also decided to make a mini journal.  I took a leftover scrap piece of paper and folded it into a journal.  I then decided to antique the pages with coffee and some brown Staz-on ink.  I found some ephemera in my stash to add to the journal cover and the pages.  I then antiqued two tags craft with the brown Staz-on ink, added ribbon to the tags and then added the tags to the pockets of the journal.  I also took some scrap brown card stock and added some tabs to the pages.  Here are pictures of the journal I created.

I plan to add more to this little journal as far as writing at some point.  If interested here is a video showing how I created this mini journal.

I really like the way this journal turned out and they are a lot of fun to make.  I hope you like the video and try making one yourself.  Please leave me a comment if you have any questions.  Have a great week.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Art Journal Page - Determination & Strength

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a great week.  My week has been going well.  This week I have an art journal page that I created using acrylic paint, watercolor paint and ephemera from my stash.  I first added scrap paper to my art journal pages and then drew a picture of a tiger on the page.  I colored the pages with watercolor paints and the tiger with acrylic paints.  I then searched through my stash for a couple of quotes and other ephemera to decorate the pages.  Here are some pictures of the art journal page I created.

Here is a video showing how I created this page.

I really like the way this page turned out.  I feel like I could have done better on the Tiger, but I am happy with it.  I want to start including animals more on my art journal pages.  Thank you for stopping by and watching the video.  I hope you have a great week.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Mini Travel Antique Handmade Journal

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week and had a good 4th of July.  My week is going well and my weekend was relaxing.  This week I have a flip through another mini antique journal that I created for my Etsy shop.  I used mixed media, brown acrylic paint and black Staz-on ink to create the cover and distress it.  I antiqued the pages and sewed them into the journal, but made it so that you do not see the stitching on the outside of the journal.  I used ribbon to add some side tucks and then added some tags.  I used ephemera to decorate the cover and then attached a chain with a couple of key charms to the cover for a closure. Here are some pics of this journal.

And here is the video showing a flip through this journal.

I really like the way this journal turned out and I love the antiqued pages.  It just takes a lot of time antiquing the pages.  Hope you like the video.  If you are interesting in purchasing any of the journals I've created you can visit my Etsy shop at: https://www.etsy.com/shop/JoysArt360  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a good week.  Until next time, happy creating.
