Journal Page - Be Kind

Hello creative friends.  This past weekend my granddaughter came for a visit and we had fun playing in our art journals.  We added different pattern papers to our page using thinned down gesso.  Then we stamped some texture on the background with Staz-on ink.  We added some watercolors on top and then added our stamped images and ephemera.  My images were stamped on deli paper so that once glued down it would look like it was stamped on the page.  I also added some texture to my page using cut up bandages.  Here is the journal page I created and some close up pics of the details:

The quote we both used and the face on my granddaughters journal page is from a Dana Wakley stamp set that I recently bought and the ephemera is from K&Company.  As always we had a lot of fun creating our journal pages.  Until next time, happy creating.

ICAD - Grow

Hello creative friends.  Hope everyone is have a great week.  This week I have another ICAD I created and a video to show how I created it.  I covered an index card with Gesso and then used a set of paint markers I recently got to paint the design on the ICAD.  I added a flower embellishment and the word Grow.  I also show in the video a couple of other ICADs I created using this same technique and my paint markers.  Here is the ICAD I created:

And here is the video:

I hope you like the video and try this technique on an ICAD yourself.  Until next time happy creating.

Journal Page - Believe

Hello creative friends.  Hope everyone is doing well.  I used the remaining two birds I colored last week to create another journal page.  I have spent the last three nights trying to get my video editing program to create a video file of this page so I could post it, but I kept getting an error message half way through it being created.  But tonight finally success after the third try.  Anyway, I used Gesso with a touch of blue on the background and then used several stamps with several Stazon ink pads and markers to doodle.  I used my Dina Wakley paints again with several stencils and then finished the page using acrylic paints.  In tribute to the cherry blossoms that are in bloom, I added pink flowers to my page.  I added the birds, a quote and then highlighted everything with a Stabilo pencil and a damp paintbrush.  here is the journal page I created.

I like how you can see some of the stamping and doodles in the background.  After all the stamping, doodling and painting I added a layer of Gesso to help tone it all down.  Here is a video showing how I created this page.

I really like the way this journal page turned out.  And I had a lot fun playing around with different supplies while making this journal page.  Hope you have a great week.  Until next time, happy creating.

Journal Page - Birds Song

Hello creative friends.  I sketched several birds and then decided to create the following journal page using 3 of the birds I sketched.  I used colored pencils to color the birds and Dina Wakley paints through several different stencils for the background.  I also did some stamping on the background with bubble wrap and rubber stamps I have.  I also created a video on how I created this journal page.  Here is the journal page I created:

And here is the video I created of this journal page:

I hope you enjoy the video.  Thanks for stopping by and happy creating.  Until next time.
