Cardinal Blueberries Art Journal Page

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a great week.  My week has been busy as usual at work, me and my husband are dealing with some health issues and members of my family seem to be having various problems as well.  It seems like everything is falling apart and when it rains it pours.  Art is what keeps me sane at times like this.  This week I have an art journal page I created using watercolor paints and Prismacolor pencils. I found pictures in my stash of a cardinal, a bowl of blueberries and a tin box that I wanted to include on an art journal page.  I sketched out the cardinal and bowl of blueberries.  I used watercolor paints to add color and then Prismacolor pencils to add detail.  I decided to glue on the picture of the tin box, instead of trying to paint it on, to finish the page.  Here is a picture of the art journal page I created.

And here is a video showing how I created this page.

I had fun creating this page and like the way the page turned out.  If you have any questions, please leave me a comment, I would love to hear from you.  Thank you for stopping by and hope you have a great week.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

New Handmade Art Journal and Parrot Coconut Art Journal Page

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  My week has been going well.  This week I have a new handmade art journal that I created for myself using chipboard panels, heavy cardstock and bookbinding thread using a Coptic stitch.  This journal is 8.5 high x 5.5 wide.  Here are a couple of pics of this new journal I made.

I love this journal and the size is perfect for what I want to use it for.  I also decided to make another one just like it and put in my Etsy shop.  So I made this journal to use as a sketchbook, but I want to use it for more than just sketching.  I want to also add color and use it with supplies like color pencils, Bombay ink, watercolor, etc.  And I wanted to do more than just a sketch or drawing of an animal or person.  So I searched through my stash and decided to combine several pictures into a layout.  For this first layout I choose a picture of a parrot, a coconut, a flower and a watch.  I sketched these on my page in the configuration that I wanted.  I then used watercolors to add color to the page and used Bombay ink, Posca pens, ink pens and color pencils to add details to my page.  Here is a picture of the art journal page I created.

And here is the video showing how I created this page.

I really enjoyed creating this page and like the way it turned out.  And I really love this new sketchbook and can't wait to create more layouts in this book.  While going through my stash, I was also able to put together a number of other groupings of pictures for future layouts as well.  If interested in purchasing a sketchbook like this one, you can visit my Etsy shop at: https://www.etsy.com/shop/JoysArt360  Thank you for stopping by and hope you have a great week.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

SoulCollage Cards

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  My week is going well.  This week I have a set of SoulCollage cards that I created.  I saw an article where people were creating these and decided to purchase the book and a set of cards to create my own set.  I searched through my stash of ephemera for pictures that appealed to me.  I affixed them to the cards and then searched my stash for quotes that went with each card.  I then used my Posca pens to outline some of the pictures and quotes.  And then used acrylic paint to paint the edges of the cards.  Here are pics of the cards I created.

And here is a video showing how I created my cards.

I really like the way these cards turned out.  Have you heard of or created any SoulCollage cards?  I may make more cards at some point, they were a lot of fun to make.  Thank you for stopping by and hope you have a great week.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Art Journal Page - One Little Thing

Hello creative friends, I hope you are having a good week.  My week is going well.  This week I create an art journal page using acrylic paints, watercolor paints, Posca pens and ephemera from my stash.  I started with a page that I did some time ago where I added text pages to it using Gesso and then added pattern to it using acrylic paint through stencils.  I colored the page using watercolor paints.  I then found a title, a couple of quotes and a picture in my stash to add to the page.  I painted some flowers on the page using acrylic paint and then traced around everything and decorated the hearts with a Posca pen.  I added paint splatters and then traced around the whole page with a Posca pen.  Here are some pics of the page I created.

And here is the video showing how I created this page.

I really like the way this page turned out and I had fun creating.  Let me know if you have any questions or have any special requests.  Thank you for stopping by and checking out my video.  Hope you have a great week.  Until next time, happy creating.
