Art Journal Page - Be Strong

Hello creative friends.  Hope everyone is having a good week.  Mine has been going well, better than last week.  This week I have an art journal page that I created using watercolor crayons, acrylic paints, watercolor paints and Posca pens.  I wanted to practice drawing and coloring people; And I wanted to play around with some of my supplies.  I started our using watercolor crayons and was really liking the way it was turning out, but then took a wrong turn, so I ended up using acrylic paint to complete this journal page.  I like the way this journal page turned out in the end.  I could have done a better job on the bird.  And afterwards I decided to add a quote to the page that reads "You never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only choice. - Unknown". Which seems appropriate after the week I had last week.  Here are pic of the journal page I created.

And here is the video that I made showing how I created this journal page.

I like to use art as an outlet when I am feeling down, stressed or frustrated.  It always helps me to put things into perspective.  Thank you for stopping by and watching the video.  I hope you have a great week.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Art Journal Page - Believe in Miracles

Hello creative friends.  Hope everyone is having a good week.  My week has been a bit frustrating, so even though I had a longer weekend I was not much in the mood for being creative.  However, this week I have an art journal page I created a bit ago.  I created an art journal page using spray inks, stencils, stamps, Gesso, a stabile pencil and a Posca white pen.  I  created a background with lots of layers and interest and using spray ink, stencils and stamps and then used a stabile pencil to draw animals on the page.  I added some letter stickers to the page to spell Believe and Miracle.  Then I painted over the words and around the animals with black gesso.  I pealed off the letter stickers to reveal the background underneath and then used a white Posca pen to write (-in-) between the words, added highlights around the words and then put dash marks around the entire page.  Here are pics of the art journal page I created.

And here is a video showing how I created this journal page.

I like the way this journal page turned out.  It was fun to do and I like the interesting background that you can see through the animals I drew and the words.  I hope you like the video and that you have a good week.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Art Journal Page - I Believe in Me

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a great week.  My week has been going well.  This week I have several art journal pages that I created using Acrylic paints, Posca pens and ephemera from my stash.  I saw a video where Julie Fei-Fan Balzer created several journal pages with faces on them and wanted to create my version of this.  Each page is larger than the last and as you flip through the pages part of the first face becomes 2/3 of the second face and then 1/2 of the third face and 1/3 of the fourth page and so on until the last face only has a very small part of the first face showing.  I first used acrylic paints through stencils and then added color to the background of the pages.  I drew and painted the faces and then added decorations on the edges of the pages with Posca Pens, which you can only see from the front side of the pages.  Last I added a word to each page and quotes from my stash to finish the pages.  Here are pictures of the journal pages I created.

And here is a video showing how I created these pages.

I am still learning to draw people, but really like the way these pages turned out and they were a lot of fun to create.  Thank you for stopping by and watching my video.  I hope it inspires you to try this yourself, if you have not already.  Hope you have a Happy Valentine's day and a great week.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Created another Mini Journal - Live in the Moment

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  Mine has been going well.  This week I have another mini journal that I created.  I used cardboard panels again, but this time I cut a face on each panel, one shorter than the last.  Then I used black gesso to cover the panels.  I then used modeling paste through a couple of stencils to add texture to the panels.  Then I used florescent paints to add color.  Then I used Prima flowers and ephemera from my stash to decorate the panels.  Last I used binder rings to bind the journal and added ribbons to the binder rings.  Here are picks of the mini journal I created.

And here is a video showing how I created this journal.

I really like the way this journal turned out.  I hope you try making your own mini journal.  They are so much fun to make and a fun way to use up some of the packaging from deliveries.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment.  Thank you for stopping by.  Until next time, happy creating.
