Art Journal Pages - Dreams & Joy and a Car Show

Hello creative friends.  Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and is having a good week.  Mine is going well, I am posting early since I am leaving for a couple days on vacation this week.  This past weekend me and my husband went to a car show, we really enjoy car shows.  Here are a few pics from the car show.

And I have two art journal pages that I created.  These are the last two pages in my new 8 x 8 Dylusions journal that I completed the backgrounds for several weeks ago.  I decided to find pics and quotes from my stash for these pages and then used a Stabilo pencil for the shading.  Here are pics of these last two journal pages.

Here is a video showing how I completed these pages:

Hope you like the video.  Thank you for stopping by and have a good week.  Heading out to enjoy my vacation, talk to you next week.  Until next time, happy creating.

Art Journal Page - Monarch Butterfly

Hello creative friends.  Hope everyone is having a good week.  My week is going good.  Can't wait for the long weekend, work has been very busy.  This week I have a journal page that I created about Monarch butterflies.  The background was one I created a couple of weeks ago in my 8x8 Dylusions journal.  I added modeling paste through a Tim Holtz stencil and then used a green ink pad to color the modeling paste.  I added a picture from a magazine and a page from a brochure I got from a butterfly garden that tells about the Monarch butterfly.  Then I used a black ink pad around the edge of the page and a black Posca pen to trace around the pictures.  Here are pics of the page I created.

And here is a video showing how I created this page.

I really like the way this page turned out.  I think Monarch butterflies are my favorite.  Hope you like the video.  Thank you for stopping by.  Until next time, happy creating.

Art Journal Page - Venture Forth & Explore and Ocala Country Days

Hello creative friends.  Hope everyone is having a good week.  Mine is going well.  This weekend me and my husband went to Ocala Country Days.  It's a local festival that has lots of hand made items, antiques, food and reenactments.  Here are a couple of pics from the festival.

The cannon was so loud, I jumped every time they fired it.

We always enjoy going and I was able to pick up a couple things, a curved needle, some leather and wax thread, for making journals.

Also I have another journal page that I created in my new 8x8 Dylusions Journal.  This is another finished page on a background that I made previously.  I used some painted paper towels, markers, charms, quotes and ephemera from my stash.  Here are pics of the journal page I created.

And here is a video showing how I created this journal page.

I really liked the way this journal page turned out and had a lot of fun creating it.  Hope you enjoy the video.  Thanks for stopping by.  Until next time, happy creating.

Art Journal Page in new 8x8 Dylusion Journal - Trust

Hello creative friends.  Hope everyone is having a good week.  Mine is going well.  This week I have the second completed art journal page in my new 8x8 Dylusions journal.  After creating several backgrounds in my new journal, I started going back through and completing the journal pages.  I used Dylusions spray inks, Posca Pens, acrylic paint and ephemera from my stash to complete this art journal page.  I decided to create a colorful Zebra for this page.  I have seen other art that people have created of colorful Zebra's and have always wanted to create one myself.  Here are pics of this journal page.

And here is the video showing how I created this page.

I had a lot of fun creating this journal page and I really like the way it turned out.  This is part of a series of videos, with others to come in the coming weeks, showing how I completed the other journal pages with the backgrounds I previously created.   Hope you like the video and that it inspires your creativity.  Thank you for stopping by.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Created another Journal by 5s

Hello creative friends.  Hope everyone is having a good week.  Mine has been busy, but going well.  Some time ago I saw a video on YouTube about a Journal by 5s and decided to create one myself.   It was a lot of fun and I loved the way it helped me to complete a journal within a minimal amount of time and without giving it a lot of thought.  It also forces you to loosen up.  I have since wanted to do another journal by 5s.  So I finally got around to doing another one.  I had a sketchbook, that I decorated the cover on it years ago, but never used it for anything.  So, I decided to use it to create this journal by 5s.  Since it had sketch paper in it, I used a glue stick to glue every three pages together so that I could use paint on the pages and this process can get very messy, since you only have 15 minutes to cover 30 pages.  I used Dylusions paints, Dylusions and Ranger spray inks, Ranger Ink pads, Posca paint pens, stencils, washi tape, scrap paper and ephemera from my stash to create this journal.  Here are pics of some of my favorite pages from this journal I created.

And here is the video showing a fast forward through how I created this journal and a flip through the completed journal at the end.

The idea for a journal by 5s came from Shannon Green and her video explains the whole process, which can be found on YouTube here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0ohBQFKqus&feature=youtu.be

I really like how my journal by 5s turned out and how different it is from the one I created before.  Have you tried this yet?  If not you should give it a try, it is a lot of fun.  Thank you for stopping by.  Until next time, happy creating.
