Week 3 Inktober #inktober #inktober2018

Hello creative friends.  I hope you are having a good week.  My week is going well.  Inktober is in its third week and I am still going strong and keeping up with a drawing a day.  Here are my drawings for week three of Inktober.

I'm having fun doing these drawings, but it's a challenge to get the detail and contrast with just one pen.  Not sure why I started drawing these with a pen, but decided to continue the challenge with the one pen.  I did add a little touch of white on a couple of them where I felt it was needed, but for the most part just used the one pen.  And I'm surprised after so many drawings it hasn't run out.  I'm curious to see now how many more drawings I can do with that one pen, LOL.  Have you been doing the inktober challenge?  If so I would love to hear about how you are doing with it.  I hope you have a good week.  Until next time, happy creating.

Week 2 Inktober #inktober #inktober2018

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  My week is going well. Another week of inktober has gone by and so far I've been able to do a drawing a day.  Here are the drawings I completed for the second week of Inktober.

It's been fun creating these drawings and hopefully I will be able to complete a drawing a day every day of October.  Are you participating in Inktober? If so I would love to hear about your progress. Thank you for stopping by.  Until next time, happy creating.

Week 1 Inktober #inktober #inktober2018

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  My week is going well.  So far I have been able to do an ink drawing a day for inktober.  Here are the drawings I completed this week.

One thing I've learned is it isn't easy doing a drawing with just a pen.  I struggle with the shading.  But I am having fun creating these drawings.  Have you been participating in Inktober too?  If so I would love to see what you are creating.  Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog.  I hope you have a great week.  Until next time, happy creating.

Playing with Art Supplies and Inktober

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  Mine is going well.  I haven't posted in some time since I haven't been doing much to post about.  Recently I decided that I would just play around with my supplies and create something, anything.  So I grabbed my Birds and Blooms magazines and created a couple of drawings using different products I have.

I created a picture of a hummingbird using Twinkling H2O.

A picture of a bird using colored pencils.

A picture of a bird using colored pens.

A picture of a butterfly using markers.

And a picture of a bird using a black pen to kick off Inktober.

Me and my granddaughter decided to participate in Inktober this year and hopefully we will be able to do a drawing a day for 31 days.  My plan is to do different animals and post each week the drawings that I completed that week.  I want to brush up on my drawing skills, so I decided to start with a bird, since that is what I've been drawing lately.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you decide to join in Inktober as well.  I hope everyone has a great week.  Until next time, happy creating.

Creating a Travel Journal including Inserts, Pockets and a Pen Holder

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  My week is going well.  It's been a while since I've posted or done anything artistic as I decided to take a break.  And it ended up being a much longer break than I originally anticipated due to a lot going on around here.  I tell you more about what I've been up to in my video below, so check it out.  YouTube strikes again.  I tried uploading the video for this last weekend, but it never finished loading.  Thankfully I was able to get it to posted this morning.  Last weekend I created a travel journal including inserts, pockets and a pen holder.  I found a Webster dictionary that had a faux leather cover at the flea market and thought it would make a perfect travel journal cover.  So I altered it for my travel journal cover and created inserts, pockets and a pen holder for it.  Here are some pics of the travel journal I created.

And here is the video showing how I created this travel journal.

I love the way this turned out and having fun using it.  Thank you for stopping by and watching my video.  If you have any questions, please leave me a comment.  I hope you have a great week.  Until next time happy creating.

Mini Journal - Heart!

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  My week is going well.  I haven't posted anything for a while, or done anything creative, because I decided to take a break.  This week I have a mini journal that I created out of packaging.  I recycled a take out box to make this journal.  I then added pattern paper to the pages.  Some of the pages I drew on and used Prismacolor pencils to color them; Some pages I stamped on and then colored with the pencils; Some of the pages I added a tape transfer to; And on some of the pages and the cover I added ephemera to from my stash.  Here are pictures of the mini journal I created.

And here is the video showing how I created this journal.

I really had fun making this journal and love the way it turned out.  It was fun drawing these sketches and coloring them.  Thank you for stopping by and watching the video.  Until next time, happy creating.

Inspirational Quotes ICADs

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  My week is going good.  This past weekend I made a couple of ICADs with inspirational quotes on them.  I found a book of index cards at Staples that were bound together with a ring and had a heavy plastic front and back cover.  I thought this would be perfect for decorating the ICADs, add inspirational quotes to and then keep them all together in this book.  I used gesso to the cards and then doodled in the wet gesso.  I then used watercolor paints to add color to the cards.  I cut some shapes from the Gelli printed papers I made last week and then looked on my Pinterest board for inspirational quotes I pinned to add to the cards.  I finished decorating the cards with washi tape, Posca pens, distressing crayons and liquid pearls.  Here are pictures of the cards I made.

And here is the video I recorded showing how I made these cards.
I had fun creating these and like the way they turned out.  I am looking forward to decorating more of these cards.  Have you made ICADs before?  Thank you for stopping by.  Until next time, Happy Creating.
