Destined to Be Art Journal Page

Hello creative friends. I hope everyone is having a good week and had a good Christmas. My week is going well and I got a few more art supplies for Christmas. This week I have another art journal page that I created in my Dina Wakley mixed media journal using Dyan Reaveley boarder stencils, Ranger stencils, Diana Wakley silhouette stencil, Staz-on ink pads, Sharpie felt-tip pen and Sharpie white paint pen. I created it on one of the craft pages in the journal. Here is a picture of the art journal page I created.
And here is the video showing how I created this journal page.
I really like the way this page turned out and I enjoy working on craft paper. Thank you for stopping by and watching my video. I hope everyone has a great New Years. Until next time, Happy Creating.

A Flip Through My Traveler's Notebook and Merry Christmas Wishes

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  My week is going well.  This week I have a flip through my traveler's notebook that I made some time ago.  I've been using this journal I made for taking notes during classes I've taken during the year, documenting major events, practicing drawing and playing with different supplies, tracking things I want to track, to have a place to practice hand lettering and a place for goal planning.  Here is a picture of the journal that I created.
And here is the video showing a flip through this journal and how I am using it.
And here are links to the videos showing how I created this journal and another one like it.:

Creating a Journal Cover

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  My week is going well.  This week I have a journal cover that I created like a large travelers style notebook for the upcoming Book of Days class that I signed up for.  I first pulled all the pages out of a 12x18 watercolor pad and folder them in half to use as inserts for my journal.  I then used the cover and the backboard of the pad to create a journal cover.  I then cut two pieces of canvas bigger than the cover I created.  I then sewed 3 sides of the canvas together, inserted the journal cover I made into the open end and then sewed up the open end.  I then used Gesso to cover both sides of the cover.  Once the Gesso was dried I used chocolate paint to paint the inside cover and then stenciled a design on the inside.  On the outside I used modeling paste and stencils to create a design on the front.  I painted the front cover with chocolate paint and then went over the modeling paste design with some metallic paint to help it stand out.  I used black paint to paint the title on the cover.  I then tied elastics to my cover and added beads and charms to the ends.  Finally I stapled the folded watercolor pages into several books to add to the inside.  Here is pictures of the journal cover and inserts that I made.

I also colored the cover of a composition book to match my journal and added it as well.  Here is a picture of the composition book.
And here is the video showing how I created this journal.
I love how this journal turned out and can't wait for the class to start so I can start using this.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thank you for stopping by and watching my video.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Mini Journal Redesign & Flip Through

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  My week is going well.  I decided that the mini pocket journal I created last week needed something added to the front cover and needed to be rebound.  I don't like how bulky it is with two signatures (sets of pages) and makes it difficult to work in.  So I decided to take it apart and split the two signatures in half to make four signatures, or four sets of pages, and then rebound the whole thing.  I like it much better and its easier to work in.  I also decided to use modeling paste through a stencil to decorate the front cover, I may do more later.  And I finished a couple of pages in it.  Here are pictures of the new rebound, decorated journal and the pages I completed so far.

And here is the video.
I really like the rebound journal and I'm having fun working in it.  The pages come together so quick and easy.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thank you for stopping by and watching my video.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Creating a Mini Pocket Journal

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  My week is going well.  This week I created a mini pocket art journal using canvas, gesso, acrylic paint, stencils, scrap papers, string, ribbon, wire, chain and boho beads I made previously.  First I cut a piece of canvas the size that I wanted to make the journal.  I added white Gesso to both sides of the canvas.  I then used acrylic paint to add color to the cover and used various colors of acrylic paint and various stencils to decorate the cover.  I sewed in a mix of papers and then tied ribbons to the spine of the journal.  I added some boho beads that I created previously to a chain and attached those to the journal and then added an elastic closure.  Here are pictures of the mini journal I created.

And here is a video showing how I created this journal.
I really like the way this journal turned out and can't wait to start using it.  If you have any questions, please leave me a comment.  Thank you for stopping by and watching my video.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Inktober 2019 Wrap-up

Hello creative friends. I hope everyone is having a good week.  My week has been busy.  But I was able to finish Inktober and really happy with the results.  Here are the final drawings that I created for the last week of Inktober.  I used pen and ink, watercolors or colored pencils for the coloring and white pen for highlights.

And here is a video showing a flip through all of my 2019 Inktober drawings.
I had a lot of fun participating in Inktober this year and only missed a couple of days.  This is my second year doing Inktober and I want to try to continue practicing drawing animals over the next year leading up to the next Inktober challenge.  We'll see how that goes LOL.  Thank you for stopping by and watching my video.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Inktober and ATC Cards

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  My week is going well.  This week I have more Intober drawings that I completed and some ATC cards I created.  I am still doing a drawing a day for inktober and starting to feel the mid-month slump.  Here are the drawings I've completed so far this past week.

I am trying not to get burned out and not finish, but I know that I will miss some days since I have some things coming up that will take up my time after work until late.  But that's ok, there's nothing saying you have to complete a drawing every day.  I'm not going to put pressure on myself and if I don't have time then I won't worry about it.

I also have some ATC cards that I made.  I didn't know what to do and wanted to do something creative, so I thought I would make some ATC cards.  I used some pre-made ATCs and some blank white and black ATC cards to make these.  I also used a lot of different products in my stash and techniques to make these.  Here are pictures of the cards I made.

And here is a video showing how I made these cards.
I really enjoyed making these cards and plan to make more.  And I'm planning to continue with inktober and doing my drawings as much as I can.  Thank you for stopping by and watching my video.  I hope you have a great week.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Art Haul, Inktober & #ShowUsYourMEdia Challenge

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a great week.  My week has been going well.  This weekend I created a video showing some new art supplies I purchased, showing my Inktober drawings so far and showing a journal page I created for the October #ShowUsYourMEdia challenge.  I am participating in Inktober again this year and decided to do animal drawings again, but also wanted to add color to some of the drawings.  Here are pictures of my Inktober drawings I've done so far.

And I'm so excited, I won the September #ShowUsYourMEdia challenge on facebook for the art journal page I created for the September challenge.

And finally, I created an art journal page for the October #ShowUsYourMEdia challenge.  I got inspiration from Dina Wakley Collage Media and created an art journal page using my new Dina Wakely scribble sticks, some acrylic paints, stencils, Posca paint pens, Dina Wakley Collage papers and a tag from my stash I made some time ago.  Here is a picture of the art journal page I created for the October challenge.
And here is the video I created showing what new supplies I bought, my Inktober drawings so far and how I created this art journal page.
I had fun creating this art journal page and love how it turned out.  I'm also having fun creating drawings for Inktober and will do a flip through of all my drawings at the end of October.  Thank you for stopping by and watching my video.  Until next time, Happy Creating.
