Art Journal Page - Connections

Hello creative friends.  Hope everyone had a great Memorial day weekend.  Mine was great.  This weekend I created an art journal page using Dylusions paint, Prismacolor pencils, Posca paint pens, a stencil of a peacock feather, a stamp of a peacock and a title from my stash.  The title I chose to put on this art journal page is Connections as I was thinking about the connections that we have with family and friends while I was creating this page.  Which seems appropriate for this time of year.  Here is a picture of the art journal page I created and some close up pics:

And here is a short video showing how I created this page.

I also made another journal for my Etsy shop I'm calling the Music journal, since I used music print pattern paper in this journal.  I decided to make a mixed media cover using scraps from the pattern papers I used in the journal, tissue paper, acrylic paint and Staz-on ink.  Here are some pics of the journal I created:

If you're interested in purchasing this journal or any other journal I've created, you can visit my Etsy shop at: https://www.etsy.com/shop/JoysArt360

Hope you connected with your family and friends this weekend.  Thank you for stopping by.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Art Journal Page - Light of God

Hello creative friends.  Hope your week is going well.  Mine is going good.  This week I created an art journal page using Dylusions paint, Ranger Crackle paint, Tim Holt distressing stain, Prismacolor pencils, stamps and a quote from my stash.  The quote says "There's a crack in everyone....  That's how the light of God gets in." by Elizabeth Gilbert.   I painted the page with Dylusions paint, stamped it with a script stamp and then covered it with Ranger Crackle paint.  Then covered the page with Tim Holtz walnut stain and rubbed it off with a baby wipe.  I then used Dylusions paints and Deep Red butterfly stamps on book pages to make the butterflies.  I added a picture from my stash, the butterflies and the quote to finish the page.  Here is a picture of the page I created and some close ups.

Here is a video I made showing how I created this page.

Have you used crackle paint?  This was my first time using it and it didn't crackle as much as I though it would.  I may have to put it on thicker next time.  But the page looks like it is crackled due to the script stamping that I used on the page.  Oh well, I still like the way this page turned out.  Thank you for stopping by.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Art Journal Page - Challenges

Hello creative friends.  Hope everyone is having a good week.  My week is going well.  This past weekend I was able to get some time in my art room to create a journal page and start working on putting together another journal for my Etsy shop.  This art journal page started out with a napkin and then I added some music note pages for the background.  I drew and painted a bird and some flowers using Dylusions paint and Acrylic paint to mimic the images on the napkin.  Then finish the page with a quote from my stash.  Here is a picture of the art journal page I created and some close-ups:

And here is a video showing how I created this page:

I really like the way this journal page turned out.  Thank you for stopping by.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Art Journal Page - Make Your Life Better

Hello creative friends.  Hope everyone is have a good week.  My week has been going great.  I am on vacation this week and posting a day early because me and my husband are going out of town tomorrow.  This weekend I played around with some Dylusions paints that I recently bought and had a lot of fun creating the following art journal page.  After putting down some color for a background, I applied black paint through a couple of stencils to add contrast to the background.  I then found a picture and quote in my stash that I added to this journal page.  Here is a pic of the page I created and a couple of close ups.

And here is a video showing how I created this page.

Have you tried Dylusions paints yet?  If not you should check them out.  They are very vibrant, smooth and fun to play with.  Thank you for stopping by.  Until next time, Happy Creating.
