5 Quick Watercolor Sketches

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  Mine is going well.  This week I have 5 quick watercolor sketches that I completed of a trip I took to Gatlinburg, TN.  I love to see the sketches that others do with their watercolors of trips and wanted to do some myself.  Here are pics of the watercolor sketches I completed.
A sketch of the sky on our way to Gatlinburg, TN
A sketch of the Atlantic city skyline
A sketch of a file on our way to Gatlinburg, TN
A sketch of the cabin we stayed in, in the mountains of Gatlinburg, TN
The tunnel between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge

And here is the video showing how I created these quick sketches:

I like the way they turned out, but need a lot more practices with these types of watercolor sketches.  I have other trips and pictures that I want to practice sketching and completing in watercolor.  I envy those who can complete watercolor sketches on location.  And I know if I practice, I will get better and maybe one day will be able to do the same.  Thank you for stopping by and watching my video.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Created 5 Tag using Gouache

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  My week is going well.  This week I have 5 tags that I created using a new set of Gouache paints, stencils, stamps, watercolor paint pens, ink pads and raffia.  I've never used Gouache before and decided to buy a set and play around with them on some tags.  Here are pictures of the tags I created.

And here is a video showing how I created these tags.
I had a lot of fun creating these tags and playing around with Gouache.  I like how opaque they are and that they are water based, but not sure I like how they dry to a chalky finish.  Have you ever used Gouache?  What do you think of them?  I plan on playing around some more with these and see what else I come up with.  Thank you for stopping by and watching my video.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Mini Canvas Play

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a good week.  My week has been going well. This week I have a mini canvas that I created playing around with acrylic paints, paint pens and ephemera from my stash.  I had some leftover napkins from another project that had butterflies on it, so I glued those of the butterflies onto the canvas.  I then added some scraps of pattern paper and music note paper.  And then played around with acrylic paints and paint pends to add marks on the canvas.  And finally added the word Play from a magazine.  Here is a picture of the mini canvas I created.

And here is the video showing how I created this mini canvas.

I had fun creating this mini canvas and I have more mini canvases to play with.  Thank you for stopping by and watching my video.  Until next time, Happy Creating.

Creating a Lapbook Bonus Part 4 - Adding Labels, Tags and Mini Journals

Hello creative friends.  I hope everyone is having a great week.  My week is going well.  This week I have the last and final part on creating a lapbook.  After creating the cover, adding the inserts and pockets and decorating the journal I though I was done.  But then I decided to add more to the inside of the lapbook.  I added labels, tags and mini journals.  I typed out and printed the labels I wanted to add and then cut them apart and inked them before adding them to the lapbook.  I then used the leftover pattern paper from creating this lapbook to add tags and make mini journals for some of the pockets.  Here are some pics of the final lapbook I created.

And here is the video showing how I completed this lapbook and created the mini journals.

I really like the way this lapbook turned out and had a lot of fun making it.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thank you for stopping by and watching my video.  Until next time, Happy Creating.
