Hello creative friends. Hope everyone is having a great week. My week is going ok. Finally got the video to upload to YouTube for this posting, I guess 3 times a charm. I am going to have to figure something else out. Anyway, I decided recently that I would like to try to art journal daily, but just do not have a lot of time during the week. So I decided it would be helpful to prep several pages to get them started. That way I could journal daily and add some finishing touches to the pages to finish them. I ended up creating 21 journal page backgrounds using various products and techniques. I used Dylusions and Ranger spray inks, Range distressing ink pads, acrylic paints, stencils, stamps and other items to get paint, color and pattern on the pages. I then decided to add some ephemera from my stash to help add some interest to the pages as well as maybe help inspire my art journaling. Here are a couple of the pages that I created.
And here is the video showing how I created the pages and the techniques that were used.
I really like how all of the pages turned out and feel that I have a good start to a daily art journal now. Hope you like the video and this inspires you to start a daily art journal if you have not already. I think it will be really helpful to have them at least started. I Hope you have a good week. Until next time, happy creating.
Hello creative friends. Hope everyone is having a great week. Mine is going well. This week I have an art journal page I created using Ranger Distress Paints, black Stazon ink, stamps, Sizzix Embossing folders and ephemera from my stash. I received an ad in the mail with playing cards on it, which is what inspired this journal page. I embossed cardstock with Sizzix embossing folders I have of cards and rubbed over them with the Stazon Ink pad. I created the back ground adding scraps from my stash, colored it with Ranger Distressing Paints, some stamping and then attached all of the elements to my page. I found a couple of titles in my stash and attached them to the page and outlined everything with a china marker. Here is a pic of the page and some close up pics.
And here is a video showing how I created this page.
I like the way this page turned out and it was a lot of fun to make. Hope you like the video and thank you for stopping by. Hope you have a great week, until next time, happy creating.
Hello creative friends. Hope everyone had a good weekend and is having a good week. Mine is going ok. Me and my husband are dealing with a death in the family. This week I have an art journal page I created as requested by my son. He writes poetry and started posting his poems online and wanted me to create a picture for his page. He provided some information on what his page would be called and what he was looking for, something with Pisces fish that are falling into pieces. So I created the following art journal page and sent him a picture of it to use. Here are pics of the journal page.
And here is a video showing how I created this page.
I didn't add any text to this journal page as I figured he could add filters and text to jpeg as needed. I really like the way the page turned out. Thank you for stopping by and hope you have a good week. Until next time, happy creating.
Hello creative friends. Hope everyone had a good weekend and is having a good week. Mine has been going well. We weathered the storms in Florida better than others and had a wet labor day, but all and all had a good weekend. Several weeks ago I showed you guys some mixed media tags that I created, but for whatever reason I did not record the process. I guess it was because I wasn't sure how they would turn out, but they turned out better than expected and afterwards I wished I had recorded it. So this week I have 10 more mixed media tags that I created and this time I recorded it so that you could see the techniques I used to create them. I used the same techniques and products as before: Ranger Tags, Dylusions Spray Inks, Ranger Distressing Inks, Basic Modeling Paste, Ranger Embossing Poweders, Tim Holtz Ephemera, K & Company Ephemera, various stamps, stencils, ribbons and other ephemera from my stash. Here are pics of the tags I created.
And here is the video showing how I crated these tags.
I had a lot of fun creating these tags. I didn't add any words or quotes to the tag yet, but I figured when I go to use them in a project, then I will add any words or quotes that I feel appropriate at that time. Now I have a stash of 20 completed tags to use in my projects. They are so much fun to make and easy to get carried away making them. Thank you for stopping by and hope you learned something new that you can use when making your own tags. Until next time, happy creating.
